I woke up earlier to a perfect, beautiful day…I thought I was still dreaming. I packed up my belongings and waited for Luellen to lead the way. I said goodbye to the Wolford’s and thanked them for their hospitality and began my journey west on Route 40 stopping at few mile markers along the way.
I arrived at the Jacktown Pub by noon where we were scheduled to have a staff meeting. The Pub is a well known favorite to the community. The owner, Wendell Parkinson, gave us a donation and we were welcomed by their staff.
Soon we were also joined by Chris Shook, who had come to meet me and talk about the drug epidemic in Licking County. We had delightful conversation and he also gave United Way a generous donation. Chris is someone who cares about the issues and genuinely wants to help make a difference.
By 3:00 p.m.it was time to leave the pub and set up the tent at the Jacksontown United Methodist Church just down the road.
Later Pam Purvis arrived. I had met her earlier in the journey at Buckeye Lake and she wanted to take the sleep out challenge and talk more about the Blueprint Priorities.
By 9:30 p.m. it was dark and time for sleep.
