Blessed with Volunteers

There was a light rain when I woke up. I enjoyed having coffee and cinnamon rolls with Jim and Cindy Young.

Later in the morning Jim took me for a walk around the property that the winery is located. We had an enjoyable walk and discussion as we did a little bush whacking through the woods and over a few streams.

Around 11:00 Leigh Ann and Virginia showed up to point me toward my next destination. We took a few pictures and then we were on our way.

I walked up and down some fairly sizable hills until we reached the Franklin Township community center and fire station. There Dave met us and gave us a tour of the building that had been transformed from an old school building. They have some very dedicated volunteers who cover a very large area helping local residents out with a variety of emergency and crisis situations.

Throughout Licking County we are blessed with so many volunteers who contribute each day to help keep us safe and respond in our greatest needs.

After we left the Community Center we then headed to the home of Langs. I set up my tent and took a shower just before evening after enjoying a wonderful venison stew made by Chris. We had a delightful discussion about the many facets of Licking County and the issues that are before us. We agreed that we couldn’t solve all the problems that night but that we would keep on trying to help make a difference one person at a time.

Around 10:00 p.m. it was time to head for the tent. The sky was clear and there was a perfect view of the large moon just overhead.
