I enjoyed waking up to cows mooing outside my tent around 6:30 a.m. I packed up my tent and headed into the Stephenson house around 8:00 a.m. Claudia had prepared a big breakfast. Jeff Gill and Dave Edelblute who is on our board along with Jim Kiracofe joined us for breakfast as well.
After we had eaten and said our goodbyes to the Crack of Dawn farm and Jim, Jeff, Dave, and I began our 6 mile walk to Camp Falling Rock Boy Scout Camp. I got to hear lots of scouting stories from Jeff and Dave along our walk. Both of them are life long scouting supporters.
Once we arrived at the camp, Jeff and Dave gave me the walking tour of the property. What an awesome place the scouts have in Licking County and what a lot of memories Jeff and Dave have helped create over the years by their involvement with the scouts.
After Jeff and Dave left, I set up camp by the Rocky Fork Creek.
In the evening, I got to meet and talk with some wonderful scouts who are part of the “Order of the Arrow”. They shared with me about the “Order of the Arrow “and I shared with them about United Way. After we talked, they performed some traditional native dances that they had been rehearsing. These were some really fine young men who are developing many skills through the scouting program that they will be able to use throughout their life. Licking County is lucky to have great programs for our youth like that of the Boy Scouts.
Around 9:30 p.m. I left the scouts and finally headed back to my tent for the evening. Another great day!
