Overwhelmed with Hospitality
I woke up at the Williams Farm and joined them for breakfast before leaving. I really enjoyed my time with Don and Marcie Williams. I appreciated there perspective on farming and enjoyed their hospitality. I have been overwhelmed with how perfect strangers have opened their homes to me and I am reminded of the wonderful caring people we have in Licking County.

Today I was to walk to Homer but due to some extreme weather reports and two closed county bridges my walking route had to be detoured. I wasn’t really happy about this last minute change but also knew that I could add another 11 miles in today’s walk.
Somewhere I heard the quote “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.” My plan was to walk through each township but the life of weather and county road construction happened instead. I’m sorry Homer. I will plan on making up there in the near future.
My walk took me today to the home of Steve and Chris Matheny. Steve is the Executive Director of the Granville Chamber of Commerce. Chris has a passion for dog rescue and growing healthy food. I enjoyed a nice dinner with the both of them and then it was time to hit the tent. They had a nice grassy spot in their back yard. It wasn’t long before I was fast asleep.
