LETTER OF INTENT

 

We are pleased to announce the Community Impact Funding Cycle for 2019-20. The United Way of Licking County (UWLC) is striving to make positive changes by utilizing the 2016 Community Blueprint, a collaboration of non-profit organizations, government agencies, businesses and funders to determine the needs, and the programs to help change the conditions and improve the lives of individuals in our community.

 
For the 2019-2020 funding cycle, UWLC seeks to:

 

  • Partner with organizations with strong leadership, staff, evaluation and financial stability;

  • Focus and leverage resources;

  • Invest in evidence-based best practices;

  • Reward cooperation/collaboration;

  • Measure results more frequently; and

  • Encourage participation in our Annual Campaign.

 
The Community Impact Funding cycle is a two-step process.

 

  • Step One is the submission of a Letter of Intent (LOI). Once LOI’s are received, they will be reviewed by the UWLC Community Impact Division panelists who will select proposals to proceed in the process.
     

  • Step Two will be the submission of a full funding application.  Please note that an invitation to submit a full application does not guarantee funding.
     

  • All nonprofit organizations whose program(s) aligns with the UWLC Strategic Plan and the Community Blueprint’s Goals/Priorities/Objectives and that serve Licking County residents are eligible to submit an LOI for the funding process. Organizations with multiple programs must submit each LOI separately.
     

  • LOI submissions are due on THURSDAY, JUNE 28, 2018 at 12:00pm Noon.  LATE OR INCOMPLETE submissions WILL NOT be accepted! 

 

 Please refer to the following instructions to submit the electronic Funding Application, Budget Worksheet, and all accompanying       documentation:

  • Open Application and choose “Save As” under the “File” menu.

  • Save the file on your computer and name it with your organization’s name, the program name and funding year (i.e. XXX AGENCY – ABC Program LOI 2019-20; XXX Agency – Organization Budget 2019-20; XXX Agency – Organization Balance Sheet 2019-20; etc.)

  • Type the information into the form and save the changes.

  • Follow the same process for any other documentation.

  • Submit the documentation from the website as directed. The electronic version needs to be digitally signed. The paper version must be physically signed. If unable to digitally sign, you can print the application, sign it, scan it and resave as a PDF document to upload.

  • Either mail hard original version to: United Way of Licking County, PO Box 4490, Newark, OH 43058-4490. or drop it off at our office: United Way of Licking County, 50 South 2nd Street - 2nd Floor, Newark.

  • All LOI submissions must be emailed to Helen Hall at hhall@unitedwaylc.org.

 

Indicate “Community Impact LOI” on the subject line. If you are submitting multiple LOI’s, please indicate (i.e. #1, #2, #3, etc.)  The LOI submittal will consist of the following (3) items in the forms provided:

  • Organization’s Executive contact will be sent a letter of acceptance or denial to proceed with the full funding process via email and US Mail on TUESDAY, AUGUST 7, 2018.

  • The full funding application is also posted for your perusal on www.unitedwaylc.org. Separate instructions are provided for that step in the process.  You have the opportunity to work on the application, however, DO NOT SUBMIT ANY FULL APPLICATION UNTIL AFTER RECEIVING NOTIFICATION OF MOVING FORWARD IN THE PROCESS BY UWLC.

  • An informational Application Workshop Q&A session will take place on Thursday, August 16, at 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm at the Licking County Public Library, 101 West Main Street, Newark. The session will explain this year’s application process and will be your opportunity to ask questions of the UWLC staff and UWLC Community Impact Division reviewers.

  • Full funding applications shall be due THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2018 at 12:00 pm. LATE OR INCOMPLETE submissions WILL NOT be accepted!
